Jennifer Monita Lapompe is the Founder of Essence of Ilia. She is an entrepreneur, author, business and transformational mentor, humanitarian and minister of the gospel. Jennifer came to the UK as a small child from the paradise island of Barbados. A proud mother of one son, Jennifer also describes herself as mum to many disadvantaged children. 

A qualified social worker, manager, community/youth worker, trainer and consultant, Jennifer was able to build a solid reputation in senior management, largely in the public sector. An area of work she enjoyed until she set up her company Janailah Ltd in 1997.

Through Janailah Ltd, Jennifer provides residential services for young people coming through the Care system, and mentoring to individuals and groups, largely in the social care arena. Jennifer, a trained Coach, specializes in the area of personal and business development.

An ordained minister of the gospel and founder of the charity Shai Foundation. Jennifer describes this area of her work as “ministry’.
Through her charity Shai Foundation Jennifer focuses her attention on supporting disadvantaged and destitute children who's lives have been adversely impacted on through poverty, neglect and abuse. Shai Foundation has an interest in supporting children in the UK and the Caribbean. The Foundation has been sponsoring children in Haiti since 2012, through their education and food programmes.

Jennifer has a passion for writing. Her first published work was on the subject of management in Social Services, which was published by Macmillan’s in 1994. Jennifer’s desire to unleash her creative side takes her on a new journey, this began with the birth of Essence of Ilia in 2016 and the launch of her flagship product, ‘Command the Week’ prayer cards, box set of 52 inspirational prayers.
